The Gospel

We believe that God created the universe and placed mankind on it in order to have an intimate relationship with Him.  Yet the first man and woman rebelled against God, and drove a wedge between themselves and their creator.  This rebellion is called sin, and the world has been experiencing its effects ever since.

But God did not stand by and let us dwell and die in our sin.  From the very beginning, God promised that He would send a Rescuer to save us from our sins (Genesis 3:15).  This Rescuer would be sinless.  This Rescuer would offer Himself as a sacrifice for our sin.  This Rescuer is Jesus.  Hinted at throughout the Old Testament, Jesus arrived around 2,000 years ago in a small town called Bethlehem.  As the renewer of all creation, Jesus healed sickness, disease, and even death (John 7:20-23).  As our perfect sacrifice, Jesus lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as a payment for our sins on a Roman cross (2 Corinthians 5:20-21).  He was buried, and three days later He rose from the dead (John 20:11-18) as a demonstration that there is life after death.

Eternity with God the Creator and Sustainer of the universe is possible through His great Rescuer, Jesus Christ.  But this is not automatic for everyone.  In order to be saved, we must repent of our sins and ask God to forgive us of our sins through Jesus (Mark 1:14-15; John 14:6).  God has tasked those who believe to take this message of grace to the ends of the earth (Matthew 28:18-20).
